The Ultimate Guide to Crochet Wig Caps | The Best Crochet Wig Caps
There are only three crochet wig caps that I use and recommend. The best one for you depends on the type of wig you're making.
Standard Crochet Wig Cap
This cap can be found at your local beauty supply store. It works fine, but it's not my go-to. I'm not a fan because you aren't able to crochet hair along the elastic band. An easy hack to hide the band is to tuck it under the rest of the cap. That said, this cap is great for making a crochet wig with bangs.
Hair to Use The wavier and curlier, the better. Freetress Water Wave, Freetress Ringlet Wand Curl, and Lulutress Island Twist are all great options.

Full Coverage Crochet Wig Cap with Small Holes (My Fav)
I have only been able to find this cap on Amazon. It's great if you're making a V Part or Lace Part Crochet Wig. The small holes allow you to create a natural look, and you can also fill in the elastic band to achieve a natural hairline.
The small holes can also be a disadvantage, though. It's nearly impossible to pull a standard latch hook through them. If you don't like to split your hair, you won't be able to use a large latch hook either.
Hair to Use You can use any hair to make a V Part or Lace Part Crochet Wig. However, I do not recommend human crochet hair or straight hair. If that's what you want, I'd suggest making a wig with wefts on a mesh dome cap instead.

Headband Crochet Wig Cap
The name says it all. If you just want a wig you can throw on, this is perfect. The band is on the silky side, which means it will be kind to your edges and hairline. It does have a Velcro strap, which I'm not a fan of — it kept snagging my hair and did nothing to keep the wig in place. I do appreciate the adjustable straps in the back, though.
You will need to secure this wig. The band is very silky and will slip off your head. I had to add a comb to keep mine on.
Hair to Use You can use any crochet hair to make a headband wig. The key is to use the knotless method at the band for a natural, seamless look. This is the easiest and fastest wig to make.
I do not recommend this cap if you have thinning hair. Even though the band is silky, I wouldn't want anything rubbing on your edges or hairline. Plus, you'll need to add a comb to prevent it from sliding off, which could cause more issues if you're not careful.
